In no particular order, here's what happened:
1. A new pony is now calling Red Pine Mountain home. Frisky is 17 years old, a hay eating machine and happy to escape from the horses who were picking on him at his home. He'll be here all winter. That's hay on his face as he raised his head from the bale just long enough to take a picture.
2. Fire on the Mountain. Well, just a fire in the oven but it happened Christmas day. Our oven survived but our dinner did not.3. Computer viruses. Many, daily bugs one of which crashed my computer, the others I caught thanks to too much money spent on anti-virus software. Thanks to Chris and her daily, patient help, my computer made it through but I don't think I'll ever devote my life to dropping cards again.
4. The weather. Cold, colder, colder still. We're at 30 below yesterday with a balmy 20 below today. Ohhh, it hurts doing those barn chores.
5. My barn. I now have windows, walls and lights! And, today Mountain Man is putting in a door to my tack room. Soon, I'll have heat!
6. Food. For some reason my relatives are trying to make me fat and I received more food this Christmas than ever before all of which went promptly to my stomach making me long for my maternity pants with their wonderfully forgiving stretch panel.
7. My photo blog. It's been lots of fun until my camera decided to break. I have a new one on the way and thank you Pam for suggesting what camera to buy.
8. Social networking. I made more friends through Twitter and then moved on to Facebook where I reconnected with two very dear, long lost friends. If you're on Facebook, I'd love to add you so send me a message at Red Pine Mountain.
9. Blogging buddies. I was so moved and touched by all of your comments to my Christmas post. I reread them many times and they provided me with so much inspiration. Thank you.
10. New blogs. After I received my aprons from Vixen's Den, I discovered many uses for them and lo and behold I discovered a blog totally devoted to women and aprons. Free drawings for aprons, pictures of women in their aprons, history of aprons, in short all things Apron. Julia has opened up an entirely new way of looking good while still dressed in farm clothes. Visit her and have some fun.

That's it in a nutshell although I did forget to mention the sunsets of pink, the gray dawns and the beauty of these slow paced winter days on Red Pine Mountain.

Hi,.. I discovered your blog while you were on break. I'll be stopping back again soon! I like your header photo and especially your sentiment "live your dream"...
OH my, the viruses. I have heard about the problems with entrecard too. But I am using Mozilla Foxfire and have antivir free software and am doing fine. Keeping fingers crossed. I have been hiking for 45 minutes to an hour every other day trying to remove the lbs I gained over the pig fest, oops I mean holidays. And do you have a fire extinguisher handy? Please keep one inside. Or do you just grab a bucket of snow? Hee, hee...
Thanks for posting about TAG. I will make sure to give you extra credit for this drawing. The past two weeks has gone by in a flash. Glad you are back.
Happy New Year!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time
I didn’t really have any “problems” with EntreCard other than it was a pain to deal with. I deleted my account yesterday and am sticking with Project Wonderful and other methods. Quality of content is a big thing for me and EntreCard just didn’t cut it.
Have a happy blogging new year in 2009!
I stopped using Entrecards tool bar and just visit my favorites which I have saved on a page on my blog. Don't forget to visit me once in a while ok? Welcome back. Beautiful horse.
I've so far had no problems with EntreCard - could be because I religiously use FireFox as my browser of choice...can't stand IE and all its security risks! I only open IE when I HAVE to view a web page that won't load properly in FireFox...which is only once in a blue moon, thank goodness! ;)
Glad to see you back! Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas - in spite of the burned dinner! ;)
I am so glad to read your new post today. The last post was so sad, and I am so very sorry for your loss. That said, I am happy to hear that you have gone forward with your dreams, and am living life to the fullest.
I love the new header, and that reminds me I must redo mine tonight. You have been on my mind lately, I hope that all is well with you.
Jen
Welcome back, Mountain Woman!! I hope you had something else to eat for your Christmas dinner... :-( But Happy New Year! Frisky is really cute btw!
Hi Everyone. It's so good to hear from all of you again. I did have a wonderful time, just peaceful.
I do use Firefox and I've only had problems lately and from reading other blogs, seems like lots of people were having problems. Now, I have McAfee running alongside AdAware and it's done a great job. I'm leaving my Entrecard widget and dropping on the blogs I visit.
Carole, we ate left over lasagna for Christmas but it was still good. Julia, I thought of your husband's $100+ lasagna while we were eating ours :)
Frisky is a doll and so easy to handle and I'm glad he's away from the horses picking on him.
Muddy Boot Dreams, I didn't mean to make my last post sad but it was a terrible time for me and my son. Sometimes tragedies happen in life but with faith (at least for me), we can push through it and become even more filled with the Holy Spirit or joy than before. I am thankful for the 30 wonderful years I had with a very special man. That's why I put "Live Your Dreams" on my header because we should be living each day as if it were our last on earth.
Karen, congratulations on winning the gift card!
Latigo Liz, I sure understand what you mean about blog content. I started blocking images just so I could drop faster and then I thought why waste my time. I'd rather be spending time on blogs I enjoy.
Hi Cactus Jack, I sure hope your DOR is feeling less sore.
Julia, I don't know if I should thank you or not because you've got me hooked on aprons now. I never knew there were so many fabulous ones out there :)
Cedar, I'm glad you found my blog. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment. Comments keep me going :)
Glad to hear your fire wasn't too big. That's nice you got the horse. Glad to have you back. Hope you like your new camera.
That all sounds lovely! It sounds as if you had a great holiday, I am enjoying your posts very much!
